On behalf of the Saltscape Landscape Partnership Cheshire Wildlife Trust are delivering a water vole habitat improvement project in the North of the Weaver Valley close to Frodsham.
Focusing on the area east of Frodsham Marshes (one of the last remaining strongholds for the species in the valley) the team will be carrying out surveys to assess the habitat and to target improvement works on the river banks. Through community training, physical improvement works and landowner advice we aim to establish a well connected corridor which will help water voles to migrate upstream and colonise new habitat.
On 29th August the team will be surveying a site where we will be improving habitats for water voles. You can join us on our survey and learn about water voles, where they live and how to improve their habitat.
We might even be lucky enough to see a vole or two!
