We had a lovely walk through Anderton Nature Park this morning when a group of children, parents and grandparents joined us on our Nosey Nature Day.
Fungalpunk Dave couldn’t make it today to lead the walk, but fortunately for us, Saltscape Saul was able to step into the breach and help us learn more about the the bugs, mini beasts, plants and trees all around us.
We saw cranesbill, cow parsley, birdsfoot trefoil, teasels, comfrey, burdock and learned lots more about the huge variety of trees in the nature park including white elms, willows, ash, and even a silver birch with burrs sprouting new elder saplings.
Saul even showed the eager young naturalists how to make twine from nettles.
Look forward to seeing you all at our next family event. Keep an eye on the events section.
