Saltscape friends, colleagues and partners gathered at Anderton Boat Lift last week to celebrate the end of our three year Landscape Partnership Scheme.
A hearty pie and mash supper was enjoyed by all, as people took time to hear about the highlights and successes of of the scheme funded by the National Lottery’s Heritage Lottery Fund.
The evening saw the ‘premiere’ of a short film telling the story of the scheme, with first hand accounts from volunteers, partners and Groundwork staff about working at a landscape scale and just why this area of the Weaver Valley is so incredibly special. The film included some breathtaking drone footage of the landscape, woodlands, valleys, towns, industries and waterways that combine to make this area unique. You can watch the film here.
Music was provided by the fabulous Joel Anthony whom you may just be lucky enough to see busking in Chester or Northwich.
The evening was a fitting tribute to a hugely varied and successful scheme!
