The Salt Sessions is a performance piece of original dance, drama and music developed and performed by students from Mid Cheshire College as part of Saltscape’s Animate! project.
Inspired by photographs, landscape, nature and the stories of local people the performances will take place in the Thompson suite at Lion Salt Works Museum on Saturday 18th March at 2.15 (as part of the Museum’s Super Salt Saturday), and again on Thursday 23rd March at 3.30-4pm. No need to book.
Nicole Morris from Animate, said: “The ideas for the Saltscape performance came from a trip to the Lion Salt Works Museum with the dance, music and acting students from Mid-Cheshire College. It’s fantastic the way they have taken inspiration from their local history and landscapes to weave together a collection of responses that draws on the salt stories that are quite literally beneath our feet.”
Our Animate! project is run by Manchester Metropolitan University with Axis Centre for the Arts.
